Burtonhead Road Power

Burtonhead Road Power is a 20MW gas fired electricity generation plant.

The project is made up of 10 no. 2MWe Cummins natural gas fuelled generators, which generate 11kV power, which can be stepped up to export at 33kV.

TMS Grid delivered the full EPC works alongside the local DNO and Local Authority, supported by our strategic supply chain.

Gas Peakers are an essential part of assisting the UK's transition to renewable energy. They use naturally compressed gas to generate power that can be drawn down to the grid when there is a high demand for electricity. The ability to provide on-demand power, helps to stabilise the grid during peak usage hours.
